Day 1, To bake or not to bake...that is the question.

Hi!  My name is Ava and I am 11.  I'm about to start 6th grade in middle school.  My mom has been a chef for my whole life and since before I was born.  I found out when I was younger that I really love to bake and I am actually pretty good at it.  I'm good at following baking directions and I like to eat whatever I bake when it is done.  We have a big kitchen and all the kitchen equipment and tools anyone could ever want.  

I recently watched the movie Julie and Julia starring Meryl Streep and I thought, I could do that!  I could write a blog about baking.  This past summer while visiting Florida, I bought a book entitled "101 Things To Do With A Cake Mix" by Stephanie Ashcraft.  I decided to bake all of the recipes, all 101, and blog about each one, how to make it, how to present it, and some tricks to getting around sticky situations when baking.  Finally, I will let you know what my mother, the chef, thinks about each recipe since she will end up being the official taste-tester.

So,I am going to try to bake on Mondays and blog on Wednesdays, depending on my activities and school schedule. I hope you buy the book and are excited about this blog.  Maybe you will make some or all of the recipes on your own.
