Invite your friends for a wine tasting combined with a casual dinner party of small plate offerings. When you serve a variety of appetizers, platters and small plates, the evening can be enjoyable as well as informative. Plus, diverse tastes and flavors will give you and your guests a chance to learn first-hand about pairing wine and food.

About Food and Wine...

People can distinguish among only five tastes: sweet, salty, sour, bitter and savory. Each of these five tastes affects the flavor of wine differently. There are no hard and fast rules about pairing food and wine. Instead, it is a question of understanding how they interact, and of discovering which tastes you most enjoy. Matching food with wine is an ongoing exploration and one of life's great pleasures.

How to host a wine and food tasting...

To help you and your guests learn about wine and food together, we have created a specific menu that speaks well to the five tastes. Our wine sommelier will accompany our chef and server to present several varieties and vintages of wine along with appetizers and dinner. To learn more about wine with food, one must start by tasting rather than reading about it. We all drink wine because it tastes good, and because we delight in good conversation around the table and the convivial spirit it inspires. Let our staff come into your home or venue and reveal the wonderful world of wine.
